After reading Stephen King's classic novel, Carrie, at the tender age of twelve, Mark Parker knew he wanted to become a writer of dark fiction and works of mystery and suspense.  Mark spent much of his adolescence and young adult life in coastal Massachusetts, where his writing style was most notably influenced by writers such as Stephen King, Dean Koontz, John Saul, Clive Barker, Shirley Jackson, Edgar Allen Poe, Nathaniel Hawthorne, Bram Stoker, Mary Shelly, and Anne Rice.

A United States Naval Veteran, Mark enjoys spending as much time by the sea as possible, and currently calls Boston, Massachusetts home. He enjoys traveling whenever possible, meeting new people, taking in new experiences that undoubtedly influence and inspire his work.

Mark's most recent publications include Banshee's Cry, Halloween Night, Biology of Blood, Lucky You, and Way of the Witch, which was named Best Short Horror Fiction of 2013 by Malina Roos on her annual Solstice List of fiction not to be missed.

His short stories have been included in a number of anthologies--most recently: Wrapped in Red - Thirteen Tales of Vampiric Horror, Holiday Horror 2014, and the upcoming Dead Harvest - Collected Tales of Mayhem and Madness, and Fearful Fathoms - Sea Inspired Stories of Oceanic Horror, both to be published in late 2014 and early 2015 by Mark's newly formed publishing company, Scarlet Galleon Publications.

Mark's future projects include the forthcoming Sticks & Stones (Part II of the Witch Saga), Teacher's Pet (Part II of the Southridge Vampire Series), Spinster, and Valentine's Day, which is a stalker story that concentrates on the darker side of love.
